The latest generation of the Audi A4 hit the European markets as a 2016 model. As for the American buyers, they have only recently got a chance to purchase the all-new A4 for 2017. With the recent redesign, Audi’s most popular sedan brought a wide array of substantial upgrades and innovations. Being one of the freshest models in this highly contested segment, the A4 will bring only subtle changes for 2018. The newest version of the German sedan will offer an impressive list of high-tech systems and amenities. As for the 2018 Audi A4 release date, expect it to arrive in the second half of 2017.
2018 Audi A4 Redesign
At first glance, the redesigned model doesn’t seem to differ that much from its predecessor. However, a closer look reveals that its sheet metal has undergone substantial changes during the recent overhaul. Compared to the previous model, the new A4 is slightly longer and wider. Its new front end now features a more angular look, including the bumper, grille and headlights. The profile appears much stronger thanks to the character line that runs all the way to the trunk. When it comes to proportions, the 2018 Audi A4 will probably be the class-leading model.
The interior offers even more impressive changes than the outside of this popular car. Aside from the new virtual cockpit, the 2018 Audi A4 will be replete with cutting-edge technology. It will also benefit from first-class materials, easy-to-use controls as well as exceptionally comfortable seats. The Premium trim will offer such equipment as leather upholstery, a power sunroof and tri-zone automatic climate control.
The U.S.-spec version of the 2018 Audi A4 will come with only one engine option. The mighty 2.0-liter four-cylinder will crank out 252 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque. Its seven-speed dual-clutch transmission will be able to transmit power in normal “D”, sporty “S”, as well as manual mode. The latter will use standard steering-wheel-mounted shift paddles. Front-wheel drive will come standard, but the most popular models will be those with Quattro all-wheel drive system. As for the European buyers, they will be able to choose from four TDI diesel and three TFSI gasoline units. Their power output will range between 148 and 272 horsepower.
Price of 2018 Audi A4
Although slightly more expensive than the previous generation, the all-new A4 comes with much more standard equipment. Expect the entry-level 2018 Audi A4 to start just above $38,000. This price tag puts it on the lower end of the price range in its class. That said, we expect the redesigned A4 to be a formidable rival to its numerous competition within the next few years.
