The new, fourth generation of BMW’s most popular SUV model X5, is expected by the end of 2017. The new model brings significant changes and improvements, compared to the current generation. Everything that offer the new model will be available with the most powerful versions, the 2018 BMW X5 M version. In addition it will receive all the improvements, as well as the standard version, the new X5 M gets a special improvement. So if this one goes a step further than its predecessors in its new edition.

First of all, there’s an all-new bumper with integrated exhaust at the rear and additional air intakes up front. The headlight cluster is getting a new design, which is present in all BMW models of the new generation. In contrast, the large kidney grille is as imposing as before.
As for the interior of the vehicle, and there is a certain displacement, compared to the old model. More specifically, the new platform allows to increase vehicle dimensions. This increase affects the interior. Also, the new interior set-up from the 5 Series shall also be seen in the new 2018 X5 and X5 M.
2018 BMW X5 M Engine Specs
New generation brings novelties in the field of drive units. The same goes for the version with “M” trim. Standard model will offer a new range of gasoline and diesel engines, with 4, 6, or 8 cylinder. Engine-wise, there will be a host of powertrain options ranging from an inline-four, straight-six this range-topping V8, and a four-cylinder plug-in hybrid.
Also, improvements will feature the BMW X5 M 2018. The current “M” model offers a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine with 575 hp and 750 Nm of torque, combined with the 8-speed M Steptronic transmission and AWD. The new model should bring more ‘horse’, with better performance. It is not known which unit will allow it. For now, it mentions that the 2018 BMW X5 M deliver more than 600 horsepower. This version of the model will hit the market shortly after the offer is standard X5.
