2011 was the year when Buick’s Verano was first launched in the world’s most populated country – China. Since then, there has been no turning back. Verano became so popular in China that General Motors have now decided to introduce it to the people of North America as 2018 Buick Verano.
Engine and Powertrain
With two trims preparing to take over the North American market, Buick will provide two different engine variants. The base model will get a 1.5 L 4 cylinder Eco Boost engine which will churn out a maximum power of 160 HP and 185 lb-ft of torque. The higher trim of 2018 Buick Verano will be sporting a 2.0 L turbocharged diesel unit under its hood. This machine will produce 260 HP and likewise 260 lb-ft of torque. While its base model will come with a 6-speed automatic transmission, Buick’s higher trim is likely to boast of an 8 speed automatic. This powertrain is said to provide an EPA rating of 21 mpg in cities, 29 mpg on highways and 24 mpg combined.
Interiors of Buick Verano 2018 can be classified as a premium to say the least. Nappa leather makes way to provide a total upholstered experience which comes coupled with a heated steering wheel for North American variants. A 7-inch diagonal LCD touch screen adorns the dash of Verano and houses a pair of instrument clusters on either side. A 3-spoke traditional steering wheel is what Buick has opted for and comes with an array of buttons for total in-house control of the vehicle. Entertainment comes in the form of a 6-speaker surround sound system which is fitted with Bluetooth, a couple of USB ports, Satellite Radio and automatic climate control.
Exteriors of Buick Verano 2018 seem to be equally promising. A pair of LED head lights adorns the front fascia of this vehicle. Placed between is Buick’s trademark all chrome vertical grille with its company’s logo placed in the centre. A body colored bumper houses a couple of LED fog lamps that aids driving in bad weather conditions. The overall design of Verano seems to have a premium finish. Windows are bordered with chrome linings which make way for those black shades and a matching sunroof. It rides on standard 19-inch aluminium wheels which GM claims increases its fuel efficiency.
