The next-generation Wrangler is probably the most eagerly awaited SUV in the U.S. at the moment. Designated as the Wrangler JL, the all-new model is due to hit the showrooms in mid-2017 as a 2018 model. The fourth generation of the legendary off-roader will bring a host of notable innovations. Expect it to feature a new chassis made from high-strength steel and a number of aluminum components. Apart from receiving a new diesel engine, the 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL will also get its first pickup truck variant. Needless to say, it will face a difficult task of holding true to its iconic Jeep image.

2018 Jeep Wrangler JL Redesign
Design-wise, the 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL won’t differ dramatically from the Wrangler JK that debuted in 2007. One of the most notable changes will come with a redesigned 7-slat grille. The new Wrangler will also feature a more raked windshield that should result in improved aerodynamics. Thanks to the use of lighter chassis and aluminum body panels, it will also boast better fuel efficiency. Other noticeable changes include slightly reshaped headlights and new side markers. Jeep’s iconic SUV will generally retain its recognizable rugged looks while adopting a number of more modern styling cues. Moreover, it will feature a new 3-piece roof design with removable panels that should be available across the lineup. When it comes to the interior, we’ll know more once the all-new Wrangler makes its public appearance at one of the upcoming motor shows.
Rumor has it that the next-gen Wrangler will feature a turbocharged four-cylinder that slots above the Pentastar V6. As for the 2018 Jeep Wrangler Diesel, it is most likely to get a 3.0-liter EcoDiesel that makes up to 240 horsepower. When it comes to transmission options, expect a six-speed manual as well as an eight-speed automatic gearbox. In comparison with the outgoing model, the upcoming Wrangler SUV will be more powerful, more frugal and more nimble.

Jeep Truck 2018 Price
With sales of the current model growing steadily over the years, we expect Jeep to increase the base price for 2018. That basically means the 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL will move slightly upmarket compared to its current positioning. According to some sources, the entry-level model is most likely to start at around $26,000. Interestingly, the Wrangler will be competing with the brand new Ford Bronco, which is another iconic American SUV.
