The prototype of the new 2019 Cadillac CT6 was spotted during testing. The first spy photos of this model are already available on the Internet. Thanks to the positive reactions to the Cadillac Escala Concept, GM decided to use some twiks with the new CT6 sedan.
Finally, American buyers will get what they have been expecting for a long time. More specifically, the new CT6 should be a combination of sharp pricing, generous space, and impressive handling and dynamics makes. For the first time, the company will use the lightweight, aluminum-infused Omega platform for large, rear-wheel-drive cars.
As mentioned, the new model gets a new platform. Also, in 2019, the Cadillac CT6 takes a design solution from the Escala concept. First of all, the grille and lower bumper valance upfront match the design on the Escala concept. Also, floating pinhead pattern for the grille, are visible on the available prototype photographs. It’s also used in the Cadillac Escala Concept model.
In relation to the current model, changes in the headlights design are observed. The current model has vertically positioned headlights. 2019 model gets thinner, more horizontal headlights. Also, the last light group gets a new design. And in this case the influence of the mentioned concept can be seen.
As for the interior of the new model, revolutionary changes are not expected. However, some changes and improvements will be. First of all, some new electronic driving aids are expected. 2019 Cadillac CT6 Power Specs
As far as the power generator is concerned, there is no official information. Cadillac is known to develop its twin-turbocharged V8 engine. This engine will replace the current 4.2-liter unit. It can be expected that the facelifted CT6 will get this new V8 unit.
What is certain, the offer will remain Plug-In Hybrid version of the model. This version was introduced since 2017. This hybrid system combines a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder petrol engine, two electric motors and lithium-ion batteries. Batteries have a capacity of 18.4 kWh. 2019 Cadillac CT6 Plug-In Hybrid develops a power of 335 horsepower, with a 586 Nm of torque. Acceleration from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) lasts 5.2 seconds. The maximum speed is 241 km/h, and it is possible to drive only to the electric field. Then the vehicle can go about 30 miles (48 km). The total autonomy is more than 400 miles (643 km).
Release Date and Price
2019 Cadillac CT6 will appear on sale in 2018. The price of the new model will remain at the level of the 2018 model. The Plug-In Hybrid version has a price of $ 75,000.
