2020 Audi Q4 arrives in showrooms during 2019. This model, an Ingolstadt company, is aimed at customers who want a coupe-based crossover SUV. The arrival of Q4 will be based on the new generation Audi Q3 crossover model. The factory is in charge of its production in Győr, Hungary.
Soon, the concept of the model is expected, which will announce the future production model of Audi. This model will take the place between the Q3 and Q5 models, in Audi’s crossover SUV offer. For now, the Audi Q2 is the smallest, that is, the company’s core crossover. The new generation of Q3 models will get something bigger dimensions, in order to withdraw a clear line between him and Q2. Right next to Q3, the new Audi Q4 coupe crossover will fit.
Opinions about this type of vehicle are divided. On the one hand, there are those who believe that this model is controversial. In contrast, there are those who believe that the crossover coupe recipe is extremely simple. According to them, it is simply a standard crossover with a changed roofline. This roofline affects the vehicle with a side profile characteristic of the coupe.
We will agree with this other type of ‘critics’. This type of vehicle is very popular. Despite its impracticality and scarce space for travelers and luggage. Advocates of such models, want to stand out with their vehicle. They do not bother at all with a small space for the head and the fact that the trunk is not spacious. Despite all the ‘shortcomings’ of such a vehicle, many are willing to pay a significant sum to become the owners of this model.
2020 Audi Q4 Specs
Like the new generation of Q3 models, the Q4 is also used by the Volkswagen Group’s MQB platform. In the standard edition, the Audi Q4 comes with front-wheel drive. Those who want to pay more for their vehicle, will be able to get an optional Quattro drive on all four wheels.
Under the hood will be located a large selection of three-cylinder and four-cylinder engines. All engines are equipped with turbochargers. As the logical choice of the engines for the 2020 Audi Q4 is powered by a 1.5-liter TSI Evo. He was recently introduced in the redesigned VW Golf model.
There are many interesting features related to the more powerful versions of this crossover coupe model. Namely, Audi Sport has promised to upgrade its RS SUV family. It will be interesting to see if the new crossover will get a stronger version, that is, SQ4 and/or RS Q4.
If this happens, one of these versions could get a 2.5-liter 5-cylinder turbo engine with 400 horsepower and 480 Nm of torque. This engine is in RS3 and RS TT models. With this engine, the Audi RS 3 accelerates to 100 km/h, in just 4.1 seconds. These figures are also expected in 2020 Audi Q4 RS. Some information indicates that the Q4 RS will have more than 400 horsepower.
In the end, the RS version is not everything Audi is preparing. The new Q4 crossover should also offer a hybrid powertrain version. For now, there is no information how this drive system could look.
