Honda Spirior Release Date

Honda revealed the Spirior Concept at the 2014 Beijing motor show for the first time. The concept actually announced the next-generation Honda Spirior or the Accord Euro as it is called in Australia. Although not identical to the Acura TLX, it shares majority of its features with the model sold in the U.S. Designed in cooperation with Dongfeng Honda Automobile, the new Spirior brings huge improvements in terms of design and technology. On top of that, expect this model to offer significantly upgraded performance. In any case, the production-ready Spirior is a valuable addition to the company’s Chinese lineup.

 Design and Features

The all-new Honda Spirior brings a radical departure from its predecessor in terms of exterior styling. It features a much more aggressive front end that’s largely inspired by Honda’s latest design language. Seen from the sides, this sleek sedan boasts an elegant and dynamic profile. At the back, expect to see a sporty rear fascia with a small spoiler mounted on the trunk lid. Generally speaking, the Spirior sedan offers an almost coupe-like appearance. It also shines when it comes to interior design that benefits from a large number of high-quality materials. Compared to the previous model, the new Spirior comes with an impressive array of safety features. While its entry-level trims offer a touchscreen-based infotainment system as an option, it comes standard on upper trim levels.

Honda Spirior Specs

Entry-level versions of the Honda Spirior will use a 2.0-liter four-cylinder that makes 156 horsepower. Its power will be transmitted to the front wheels through an automatic transmission. The more powerful engine option comes in the form of a 2.4-liter unit generating 206 ponies. As for the more detailed Honda Spirior specs, we expect them to surface in the near future.

As you probably already know, Honda decided to kill off the Accord sedan on the European markets. That came as an unpleasant surprise to numerous Honda enthusiasts all over the continent. In that regard, the China-spec Honda Spirior appears even more successful. Since it currently offers great value for money, we expect its sales figures to grow steadily in the coming years.
